Effects on Student Athletes
Although competitions will not begin until January, practices and trainings will still commence in the fall. In effect, it will be more closely resembling NCAA sport with a proper preseason and regular season competitions following. Every university will have their own bespoke solution to the problem and we advise every student to enquire to their coach and performance sport manager about their university's specific situation. |
What's your story?
After playing 4 years in NCAA D1 volleyball the best decision I made was to continue the sport I love at a high level and get my Masters in Business Administration overseas. The Guimond and Vukovic Group were spectacular in connecting me with coaches and schools providing all the necessary information that I needed to knowabout moving to a new country. I had little to no knowledge of the process of obtaining a student visa and how England volleyball was. The Guimond and Vukovic Group got me in touch with current players that were doing the same as I was and made the processso smooth. Anybody that would like to play volleyball at a high level and even work towards playing in a professional league while getting a masters degree should definitely use this agency. |
As a collegiate volleyball player that was seeking a career path in my sport, my ideal path included getting my Master's Degree and playing overseas. Thank goodness Derek reached out to me on Facebook and I took the step to see where I could go. He has answered every question I've asked throughly and consistently checked in on me and how I am doing with making this experience easy and talking me through all of my options! -Kelsey M. BU reached out to me at the end of my final year at college, they found me through the All-American list and presented all the advantages to taking this opportunity. I would definitely recommend others to follow this path, you get an extensive academic experience, the opportunity to travel, and maybe best of all the opportunity to make worthwhile connections through networking with interesting people that will help you reach the level of success your strive for. -Player |
In short I am so thankful that I had the opportunity and took advantage. Coming over here is something that I will always remember and really puts me on the right path for my future. I have new experiences, new found views and perspectives, and new added value when making my nextstep. I recommend that anyone that has an opportunity to do something similar to this to take advantage. You will never regret going out on a limb and trying something new, however you just might regret never taking a chance. There are numerous people to help you feel ascomfortable as possible for this major change, so there is little down side to this experience. I am truly grateful and hope that if anyone is thinking about doing something similar, that you take the leap of faith and reap the benefits that an experience like this has to offer. |
Testimonials
"When I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2015 I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. My teammate and good friend Rob Chilcoat convinced me to go to the University of Essex to earn my M.B.A. I was skeptical at first but it ended up being the best decision of my life. I have made lifelong friends, continued my playing career, furthered my professional career, and have lived and worked in London, Stockholm, and Cyprus. I never thought I would be able to play for a professional volleyball club - but it happened. Your playing career is far from over post graduation, there are so many unique opportunities left for you to uncover."
